New Accredited and Affordable EMT Program at Cambridge College Launches in the Summer

BOSTON, Ma., Wednesday, May 31, 2023 — Cambridge College, one of the leaders and pioneers in adult learning, is proud to announce its new accredited EMT program that students can complete in as little as six weeks for only $1,600. Those who graduate from the program, which launches on June 26th, will know how to provide emergency medical care in critical situations and can go on to apply for work in various settings, including hospital emergency, fire, and security departments.

The EMT Program includes a mix of online and on-campus classes at Cambridge College's convenient Boston/Charlestown location that’s accessible via the Orange Line and offers free parking. With the variety of schedules available, students can pursue EMT qualification that best fits their pace. After completing the program, students can take the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) cognitive exam and MA state practical exam which is required to apply for work as an EMT in Massachusetts.

Cambridge College faculty with more than 20 years of experience in emergency medical education have developed this new program which also offers anyone interested in healthcare the chance to become an American Health Association-certified basic life support (BLS) provider. Additionally, by successfully completing the program, students earn 12 credits toward an undergraduate degree at Cambridge College.

Learners can enroll in a 12-hour-a-week daytime or nighttime course that runs for 12 weeks; 15-hour-a-week daytime or nighttime course that runs for ten weeks; or a 25-hour-a-week daytime course that takes place over six weeks. Options vary year-round and can be identified via the program website. Classes are expected to fill up quickly, so those interested in the program are advised to sign up soon. A $250 deposit, deducted from the $1,600 program cost, is required to reserve a seat.

"Our new and affordable EMT program opens the door to many career opportunities for those who want to progress their healthcare career," says chair of Cambridge College's EMT program Ronald Estanislao, MA EMTP, NRP, NCEE. "That includes high school students looking to enter the workforce, veterans who wish to transition to a second career, and anyone who wants to immediately start in the allied health industry or go on to become a paramedic or other type of medical professional. Our students will acquire skills in symptom recognition and emergency care procedures and be equipped to help those who are ill or injured."
