CC Puerto Rico joins worldwide campaign against HIV-AIDS

red ribbonThe U.S. theme for World AIDS Day 2021, “Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access, Everyone’s Voice,” highlights the Biden-Harris administration’s strong commitment to ending the HIV epidemic globally by addressing health inequities and ensuring the voices of people with HIV are central in all our work.

Cambridge College Puerto Rico has joined the Puerto Rico Department of Health in this recognized event. The CCPR initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Karla Lopez, MEd Health Program faculty. To promote AIDS awareness and prevention, Cambridge College Puerto Rico participants wore red shirts on class days for the first two weekends in November.

It has been 40 years since the first cases of what later became known as AIDS were officially reported. More 36 million people have died from AIDS, globally.
