New Online Division for New Markets with a Global Reach

Cambridge College announced the launch of a new division, “Cambridge College Global” (CC Global) which will have an exclusive focus on growing its online academic programming to extend the College’s long-term commitment to access, affordability and flexibility throughout an expanded national, as well as international community.

Over the years the College has evolved its modalities to offer in-seat, hybrid and online in order to respond to the changing needs of adult learners and to assure that academic opportunities are available to them in the modality that best meets their needs. Through partnerships over the years, the College made significant progress in growing their online programs but a 2020 acquisition of the fully online New England College of Business and Finance (NECB), renamed the New England Institute of Business (NEIB) at Cambridge College, has provided the trajectory for the College to expand the array and accelerate the growth of its online offerings for adult learners.

NEIB at Cambridge College will continue to provide online business and finance programs to its approximately 1000 students who are currently enrolled. Under the umbrella of CC Global this division will expand its offerings to growing sectors in education, psychology, information technology and other programs to respond to the market need for adult learners.

“There is a great need, both nationally and internationally, to provide access to high-quality, affordable, industry-relevant and flexible programs for working adults, and to reach underserved and underrepresented populations in key industries” said Deborah C. Jackson, President of Cambridge College. “Our College has always stood for removing barriers to career opportunities and advancement that have historically left members of marginalized communities unable to attain professional opportunities in growing industries such as information technology and financial services. CC Global will help expand and extend our mission to reach people who will benefit by our programs locally and around the world.”

Leading CC Global as its Executive Director will be Howard Horton who joined Cambridge College through their acquisition of NECB. Horton has been a successful start-up and turn-around college president, having previously led the New England Institute of Art, formerly known as the Massachusetts Communications College, and Bay State College through major growth and development. Horton stated that “the key ingredient for growing any college is to be laser focused on the needs of students to attain the right skill set and to have industries know that they can count on its graduates to come away with these competencies. We were able to demonstrate this model at NECB where employers paid the majority of tuition for their employees to take programs that, in turn, built and strengthened their respective workforces.”

He further added that not all online programs are created equally and that a focus on quality will be foremost at Cambridge College which was recently ranked among the top three best online bachelor’s programs in New England from U.S. News & World Report rankings of best online bachelor’s programs in the nation.

Having secured partnerships in Asia and Africa, a major strategy of CC Global will be to expand its network of international partnerships and distributors.
