Domestic Violence

“Domestic Violence continues to be a serious problem in this country," explains Carol Pepi, Core Faculty at Cambridge College. "It threatens the physical safety and emotional well-being of 1 out of 3 women and 1 out of 4 men and creates an experience of trauma for children and relatives that are exposed to its physical, verbal and threatening behaviors."

Professor Carol Pepi teaches courses that specifically address relationship violence.  “I am proud to be associated with a college that takes seriously the pervasive nature of violence in all its forms and is committed to providing educational opportunities for students to learn more about the risks associated with family violence and the community resources that are available,” she stated.

This term, Cambridge College is offering two courses in this field: Understanding Child Abuse and Neglect and a new one-credit course, Domestic Violence: Risks, Trends and Resources offered on November 4th and 5th.  A third course, Intro to Juvenile Justice, references exposure to a cycle of violence in families and the community that may contribute to juvenile offending.
