With two children to support as a single parent, Sandra Ramoutar faced a great deal of adversity in her years before studying at Cambridge College. After being referred by a friend, Sandra applied to the college in 1986 with the hopes of applying her employment history and life experiences towards a formal degree. In short time, Sandra found herself excelling in the classroom. While studying for her Master’s in Education, she began taking courses outside of the college in floral design.

In 1988, Sandra graduated from Cambridge College with her Master’s in Education. Shortly after, she began teaching floral design courses at Massasoit Community College in Brockton, MA. Now living in Arizona, Sandra has studied in the University of Arizona’s Master Gardener extension program, which seeks to train volunteers to educate their communities about environmentally responsible gardening practices, as well as in the Northland Pioneer College for the state’s teacher exam and certificate, which allows her to teach in Arizona public schools. Currently, Sandra is undertaking the acting program within the Theater, Film and Arts department at Mesa Community College in Mesa AZ, and has discovered her talents as a standup comedian.  In addition, she's been a caretaker for many years to a disabled young man since his childhood. Sandra’s constant hunger for knowledge and education has continued to grow since her time at Cambridge College, where she attained the tools and lessons to help her advance in her development.
